Titanfall 2 Retail Listing Hints at Release Date

A recent product listing on retail website Game reveals the potential launch window for EA and Respawn Entertainment’s highly anticipated shooter, Titanfall 2.

The Titanfall fan base has been whipped into a flurry of activity recently after a very short teaser trailer arrived last week for the upcoming sequel with hints at some new and exciting features. Even though Titanfall 2 has been public knowledge for a while now and with information starting to trickle out, fans have started to wonder when the latest game may finally arrive. If a recent retailer listing is anything to go by, Titanfall 2 may be dropping in sooner than people think.

In a new product listing for the retailer Game, Titanfall 2 could be arriving later this year if the information is accurate and not just a placeholder date. On the product page, the game is currently available for pre-order with an expected launch date listed for TBC-2016.

Thanks to other sources and information that have cropped up over the past few months, this listing could indeed indicate that a 2016 release is true. A few months ago, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen told investors that they assume to see Titanfall 2 launch sometime during the second half of its current fiscal year. Even McFarlane Toys, who develops toys and figures for popular franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Halo, have a Titanfall line of figures scheduled to launch sometime later this year.

Details for the game are pretty scarce, though fans have been pulling as many details as they can out of the initial teaser trailer from last week including what appeared to be a Titan slamming a sword into the ground near the end of the video. Recent screenshots also hint at the possibility of anew Titan class capable of wall running like a pilot character. Based on comments by Respawn Entertainment community manager, Abbie Heppe, it’s quite possible that the game will also have a traditional single player story mode, something which the first game lacked.

After confirming it will be passing on E3 this year, EA has already confirmed that Titanfall 2 will be at its press conference – which kicks off on June 12th at 1pm Pacific time. Interestingly enough, EA is tweaking its traditional E3 plans this year, instead kicking off an event called EA Play. The event will be split between Los Angeles and London, comprising of a traditional press conference, followed by a two hour demo session which then opens up to the public after. EA has not confirmed the games that will be there outside of Titanfall 2, but many fans expect to see anticipated title likes Mass Effect: Andromeda get ample time in the spotlight as well.
