We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destinyplayers for the weekend of February 26th.
With the focus on future content that is still currently a mystery, not much has gone on in Destinythis week. There was the launch of Iron Banner Clash but by and large it feels like this is the least interested players have been in an IB event in quite some time. That is, expect for those players looking for a Year 2 Praedyth’s Revenge, which has been reincarnated as the Iron Banner sniper rifle, Weyloran’s March.
Bungie also gave Destiny players more details about the studio’s live streaming plans, which we now know will kick off with a Dreadnaught Ride Along on March 2nd. From there, the developers will host another Bungie bounty and even discuss Destiny’s music and audio, before eventually talking about new content.
Now, to the matter at hand. This week, players can find Xur in the Crucible area of the Tower, right across from the Crucible handler, Shaxx. All one needs to do is head straight after spawning into the Tower, follow the stairs down, around, past Eris Morn, and Xur should be on the left hand side.
For armor choices this week, Xur has the Ruin Wings gauntlets for Titans, the Mask of the Third Man helmet for Hunters, and the Light Beyond Nemesis helmet for Warlocks. All three items are particularly useful Destiny exotics, and top choices for their respective classes.
The Ruin Wings are an essential piece of any Titan’s arsenal, offering increased Heavy Ammo drops and Heavy ammo pickups while equipped. The Mask of the Third Man helmet gives Blade Dancers a little extra punch by extending their Super for longer. And the Light Beyond Nemesis helmet is aTrials of Osiris player’s best friend, offering faster revives.
On the exotic weapon front, Xur has the Truth rocket launcher for sale, another solid choice, especially for PvP. The heavy weapon’s seeking rockets and proximity detonation make it one of the most popular choices for Crucible players, and a formidable force when fully loaded.
For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:
- Ruin Wings (Titan Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
- Mask of the Third Man (Hunter Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
- Light Beyond Nemesis (Warlock Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
- Truth (Rocket Launcher) – 19 Strange Coins
- Legacy Heavy Weapon Engram – 29 Strange Coins
- Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins
While plenty of Destiny players likely own every item in Xur’s inventory, there’s no denying the selection as a solid one. Nearly every item available is a top tier exotic for its respective class, and Truth is a great heavy weapon choice. But, as we have mentioned before, it’s hard to get excited for items that we’ve seen countless times before.
Destiny: The Taken King is out now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
