Final Fantasy 7 Remake – New details revealed about upcoming PS4 game
The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is arguably one of the most highly anticipated PS4 games on the horizon.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake was announced to much fanfare (pun completely intended) back at E3 2015.

That teaser video was followed up by a full gameplay trailer at PSX 2015, but since then official updates have been few and far between.

It was hoped that more details on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake was going to be released last year to mark the game’s 20th anniversary.

However, apart from a handful of new screenshots, Square Enix did not reveal much else on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

News on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake went quiet as development on the JRPG revival was brought in-house.

However, recently more details have started to trickle out about the eagerly anticipated return to Midgar.

Towards the end of last month, new images of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake were revealed.

These were showcased at the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition in Tokyo.

The new images show the Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s version of the Sector 5 Church.

Those who played the original will know this is where main character Cloud meets loveable flower girl Aerith Gainsborough for the first time.

And now more exciting details about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake have emerged from the big anniversary exhibition in Japan, Siliconera reported.

FF7 Remake director Tetsuya Nomura recently made a surprise appearance and showed some more new screenshots exclusively to those in attendance.

And while there aren’t any pictures to publish, as they were revealed behind closed doors, some interesting details have emerged.

According to fans who were in attendance, the design of some key characters has been given a big refresh.

Most notably, Cloud’s design has changed – with it now looking much closer to the original design of FF7’s iconic hero.

A fan in the audience said Nomura and development leader Naoki Hamaguchi mentioned that “while Cloud may look this way, he was a dork. I believe those of you who played the the original would understand what I mean by saying he’s a dorky character.”

Elsewhere, other members of AVALANCHE – the rebels that hire Cloud as a mercenary at the start of the game – have been given a new look.

One fan said that Biggs looked “super handsome,” Wege was described as “refreshingly chubby” and Jessie as “cute!”

Fans in attendance also said that Square Enix are not expected to be sharing these new screenshots to the public for a while.
