HP announced the latest version of the Helion OpenStack 2.0 Cloud platform with enhanced lifecycle management and security features. HP is targeting the latest release at enterprise customers hoping to leverage the power of the OpenStack Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform for their mission critical enterprise computing needs.
“Enterprises want to benefit from the powerful capabilities of OpenStack technology, but they must have the enterprise grade capabilities required to support their businesses,” said Bill Hilf, senior vice president and GM, HP Cloud. “The configuration, security and scalability advances in HP Helion OpenStack 2.0 enable organizations to deploy OpenStack technology into production with the confidence that they are backed by the experience and support of a trusted end-to-end technology partner.”
HP OpenStack Helion 2.0 is based on the latest OpenStack Kilo release, the twelfth release from the open-source OpenStack project. HP Helion OpenStack 2.0 allows customers to reconfigure and perform live updates to their cloud without downtime. The latest release features enhanced security with continuous patch management and data encryption across all OpenStack nodes.
HP has had an integral role in the Monasca project, which provides monitoring-as-a-service (MaaS) integrated with OpenStack. Monasca provides an easy to use operator console with a pre-built set of performance and health metrics to assist customers in the optimization of OpenStack cloud performance.
HP provides support for its HP Helion OpenStack customers through the HP Helion Professional Services program. HP has built a team of over 2,000 tech support staff with 24/7/365 availability to help customers implement their cloud environments.
The HP Helion Ready Program provides customers with an array of certified solution providers and hardware vendors whose products have been tested and certified to work with the HP Helion OpenStack platform.
