Lava has expanded its budget smartphone portfolio with the launch of the Iris Atom 3 smartphone. Priced at Rs. 4,899, the handset is now listed on the company website with pricing details. So far there’s no word on availability details of the Iris Atom 3 from Lava. The company in a statement stressed that the Lava Iris Atom 3 is targeted at the first time smartphone users.
The dual-SIM Lava Iris Atom 3 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It features a 5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz clubbed with 512MB of RAM. The Lava Iris Atom 3 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also packs a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It packs 8GB of inbuilt storage and is expandable up to 32GB (via microSD card).
The Iris Atom 3 comes with GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and 3G connectivity options. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery. The handset measures 144x72x9mm and weighs 150 grams. According to the company listing, the Iris Atom 3 will be available in Black and White colours.
At this price point, the Iris Atom 3 will be up against the Intex Aqua Air which also features a 5-inch WVGA display and was priced at Rs. 4,690. Another handset in the same price segment, the Xolo One HD retails at Rs. 4,777 but comes with a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display.
Earlier this month, Lava unveiled the X10 smartphone priced at Rs. 11,500.
