‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5’ Latest Patch Brings Additonal Levels, New Character Campaigns And More

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, the glitch-ridden skateboarding title from Activision — the 10th from the franchise — has finally gotten a patch update, which will hopefully fix the issues plaguing gamers.

Nearly two months after the title’s release, developer Robomodo has pushed out the much awaited patch update 1.03 for PlayStation 4.

The patch update, which weighs 7.8 GB, brings new character campaigns, gameplay tweaks and introduces two new levels for gamers: Wild West and Underground.

The new character campaigns are Tyler the Creator and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While gamers have eagerly been waiting for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 to get bug fixes, the patch notes do not mention any such thing.

However, the patch notes divulge the details on character textures and alterations to the gameplay. The developer has also enhanced the visuals and lighting for many levels.

The additions to the content also see the inclusion of per-mission leaderboards, the ability to regain Special Meter in a single combo, the option to “Return to Freeskate” even when on a Mission or Mode and the ability to seek out other players for Modes or Co-op Missions.

Moreover, several Pro Skaters’ Textures, the Tutorial and the Create-a-Park Levels have been updated. The Sponsor update has been received by many Pro Skaters. The maximum number of Stat points a Campaign can earn has also been increased from 128 to 150.

The patch also brings enhancements to gameplay and several mechanics in the levels are updated. Several levels also see an update to the Grinds.

The user interface is given additional options for user preference, such as the inclusion of a double-tapping grind button, which activates the slam technique. Players can now also Opt in/out of Global Voice Chat. Also included in the update are UI audio effects, as well as several minor UI enhancements and fixes.

Networking also gets enhanced and the User Generated Levels have been updated with the addition of Likes/Dislikes. An update to the User Generated Content Rating System has also been made. The patch also updates the leaderboard functionality and plenty of multiplayer modes have been updated. Three new modes are added: Manual Mayhem, Skate Hoarding and Daily Grind. The patch also adds a novel Challenge UI Flow to aid matching during FreeSkate.
