Zen Cinemax 2 With 5.5-Inch Display Launched at Rs. 4,199

Zen Mobile has launched the Cinemax 2 smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 4,199. The new budget smartphone is now available exclusively via Flipkart starting Monday.

The Zen Cinemax 2 smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and comes with a 5.5-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) display. The handset is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

The Cinemax 2 comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB). The smartphone sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and also packs a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Some of the additional features on the handset include an auto call recorder. Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 2900mAh battery.

Commenting on the launch, Vineet Bhatia, Executive Director, Zen Mobile, said, “As per industry estimates, 60 percent of all mobile data traffic will be from online video by 2020, we see a huge potential in this segment and with Cinemax 2, we have a powerful device to address this segment. It is launched for today’s consumer who is hooked to seamless experience across screens when it comes to social platforms, videos or gaming. It is a smartphone market disruptor; it comes loaded with top-notch features and specs in the category at a much attractive price.”

Launched in sub-Rs. 5,000 category, the Zen Cinemax 2 smartphone will be going up against other handsets in the same price segment such as the Intex Aqua Air priced at Rs. 4,690.
