David ‘Hayemaker’ Haye vs. Mark ‘The Dominator’ Di Mori 360-Degree VR Boxing Match Streaming Live

Hayemaker 360 App

This Saturday, the O2 Arena in London will witness former boxing heavyweight champion David Haye against fighter Mark De Mori in the first ever live match captured with VR viewing in mind.

The public will be able to watch the two boxers, David “Hayemaker” Haye and Mark “The Dominator” di Mori facing each other through a specially built Android app which uses a multi-camera 360-degree production.

Boxing enthusiasts from around the world may download the Hayemaker 360 app for free. Sadly, there is one exception to the “global” coverage of the app, and that is France. Désolé, Les Blues!

If you are a fan of David Haye, you should know that the Hayemaker 360 app also offers a glimpse into Haye’s Spartan workout sessions, as well as his everyday life. Did we mention it is all in VR? The app can be downloaded immediately, but chances are that it will receive content starting on the day of the big fight.

Unsurprisingly, Haye is very happy with the next-gen technology that accompanies his comeback.

“I’m fascinated by new emerging technologies, and am constantly looking to embrace the digital world in order to connect with my fans,” the former heavyweight champion says. “I’m thrilled to bring immersive VR technology to big time boxing — allowing the public to stand alongside me in the ring, letting them see what I see and experience every punch.”

It is not the first time 360-degree cameras are used to take footage of boxing matches. Boxing fans might remember the fight between middleweight contenders Daniel Jacobs and Peter Quillin.

It happened in December last year, and the interactive video came out only days after the fight. Take a peek at the video below to have an idea how the Saturday fight between The Hayemaker and The Dominator will look like.

On the downside, the 360-degree does not allow the user to zoom into the ring.

If you are a boxing fan, make sure to download the app and watch the first ever VR filmed boxing match in history, this Saturday. It starts at 9:45 p.m. GMT, or 4:45 p.m. EST.

Let the best man win!
