Destiny: The Collection for PS4 and Xbox One Listed on Amazon

Destiny: The Collection for PS4 and Xbox One Listed on Amazon

A listing appears on the retailer Amazon’s website displaying a release with the name Destiny: The Collection for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

Thanks to a discovery from the Twitter user and self-proclaimed Xbox Live Arcade watchdog known as Lifelower, a couple of listings for an unannounced Destiny collection have shown up on Amazon’s UK site, and should they be legitimate, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One could be getting new compendiums for Bungie’s science fiction shooter. Simply titled Destiny: The Collection, not much is known about the potential anthology, as the posts from Activision have since been taken down, with any searches using the specific wording of the title resulting in listings for The Taken King — Legendary Edition.

However, as seen in the tweet from Lifelower below, should Destiny: The Collection be an actual product, it’s apparently going to be sold for £49.99 on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a release date of August 18, 2016, which is just about a month ahead of the action-RPG’s launch of its next expansion, Rise of Iron. Unfortunately, though, the actual contents of what Destiny: The Collection might contain aren’t listed, leaving fans to speculate as to what they might be.

Although the materials haven’t been detailed for Destiny: The Collection, it’s a safe bet to make that the compendium is going to bundle together the base game with all of the DLC that has been released for the title thus far. Of course, such a notion is conjecture at this point, considering neither Activision or Bungie have officially commented on the release, so it’s important for Guardians to take all of this information with a grain of salt.

If developers are indeed planning on putting out Destiny: The Collection next month as a package containing all of the expansions and pieces of content that have already been made available, it would serve as a great starting point for gamers who haven’t played and are looking to get into the action. With Rise of Iron coming out just a month after Destiny: The Collection‘s supposed launch, it would give would-be Guardians the chance to get familiar with the title and prepare for the forthcoming DLC’s new raid, Gjallarhorn quest, as well as the fresh enemies in the Cosmodrome.

At any rate, with the Bungie’s next scheduled stream for Rise of Iron taking place in August at gamescom 2016, it’s quite possible that the studio could acknowledge and reveal Destiny: The Collection‘s existence. The dates for the supposed compendium’s launch and the European video game expo coincide with one another, so it’s not too far-fetched of a possibility.

That said, whatever the case may be as far as Destiny: The Collection‘s official unveiling goes, with the aforementioned Amazon listing for the anthology only showing PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, it’s obvious that Bungie intends to continue future developments solely for current generation console. After all, the studio did recently release the last patch for the game’s PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

What do you think about the listing of Destiny: The Collection on Amazon for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? If you haven’t even touched the game yet, would a bundle containing everything the title’s put out yet be enticing to you at this point? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Destiny is out now and is available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, while its next expansion, Rise of Iron, is set to release on September 20, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
